Sophie Korenhof

Within the programme, Sophie Korenhof focuses on implementing sustainability interventions in nursing units. These include preventing unnecessary care, reducing disposable products, and switching to more sustainable alternatives.

Sophie is a physician, trained at Erasmus MC, and holds a master’s degree in Epidemiology from Imperial College London. She has clinical experience in the emergency department and internal medicine, as well as several years of experience in nursing home care.

Over the past few years, her interest in sustainability has grown, along with her desire to contribute to it through her profession. As a PhD candidate in public health, she joined a Green Team at Erasmus MC, where she worked on energy-saving initiatives, informed colleagues through newsletters, and organised a film evening on climate and healthcare. She also developed and taught courses on Planetary Health for medical students.
