Dr. Erwin Ista
In his current role as Associate Professor of Nursing Science and Implementation Research, Erwin Ista works extensively on implementation. He brings this knowledge and experience to the Together for greener healthcare programme: how can we implement sustainable healthcare initiatives in nursing units across Dutch hospitals? And equally important, how can we learn from one another in this process?
After completing his nursing education, Erwin went on to specialise as a paediatric intensive care nurse. Alongside his work as a PICU nurse at Erasmus MC Sophia Children’s Hospital, he studied Nursing Science. After completing this degree, he obtained his PhD, focusing primarily on implementation research.
Within the team, Erwin focuses on guiding the implementation of sustainability initiatives in nursing units. Together with Nicole, he also supervises PhD candidate Jiske within the team. In addition, he is a member of the steering committee of the Together for greener healthcare programme.
